the community's table
The Community’s Table project was conceived, designed and developed by Public City to support the Downtown Austin Alliance’s comprehensive public engagement effort to shape the Downtown Vision. Public City collected ideas from across the city of Austin in the form of ‘vision boards’. These wooden boards were precut 18” x 3” cedar planks that when assembled became the top of a 50’ long community table installed in Republic Square.
CONGRESS AVENUE URBAN DESIGN INITIATIVE
Public City was brought on by the Sasaki Team to develop a public engagement plan for the Congress Avenue Urban Design Initiative. Our team was responsible for community outreach and vision development as well as design concept development and production.
EXTRA YARD FOR TEACHERS SUMMIT
Public City produced and curated the Extra Yard for Teachers Summit for the College Football Playoff Foundation with the task of creating a platform for celebrating teachers and connect with the passion for teaching.
Commissioned for the 2016 Dallas Festival of Ideas, "A City is a Poem" is a collaboration between filmmaker Andrew Holzschuh and poet Joaquin Zihuatanejo.
